Los Angeles Dodgers' Hanley Ramirez is hit by a pitch during the first inning of Game 1 of the National League baseball championship series against the St. Louis Cardinals
Hanley Ramirez has a broken left rib, leaving him a sport-time decision to start out for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game three of the NL championship series.

Manager Don Mattingly says a CT scan revealed Ramirez has a hairline fracture of his ribcage that's painful. Ramirez was dealing with working out staff to get loose enough to swing a bat, that may ultimately determine whether the shortstop can begin against St. Louis on Monday night.

Outfielder Andre Ethier can be another game-time decision. He's been bothered by medial stress syndrome and the team planned to gauge him during batting practice.
